چکیده

A new quantum model with rational functions for the potential and effective mass is proposed in a stretchable region outside which both are constant. Starting from a generalized effective mass kinetic energy operator the matching and boundary conditions for the envelope wave functions are derived. It is shown that in a mapping to an auxiliary constant-mass Schrödinger picture one obtains one-period “associated Lamé” well bounded by two δ-wells or δ-barriers depending on the values of the ordering parameter β. The results for bound states of this new solvable model are provided for a wide variation of the parameters. PACS numbers: 03.65.-w Accepted in J. Phys. A

Two - Body Dirac Equation and Its Wave Function at the Origin ∗ Hitoshi

A relativistic equation is deduced for the bound state of two particles, by assuming a proper boundary condition for the propagation of the negative-energy states. It reduces to the (one-body)Dirac equation in the infinite limit of one of the constituent mass. It also has the symmetries to assure the existence of the anti-bound-state with the same mass. The interaction kernel(pseudo-potential) ...

Facets of the Spinless Salpeter Equation

The spinless Salpeter equation represents the simplest, and most straightforward, generalization of the Schrödinger equation of standard nonrelativistic quantum theory towards the inclusion of relativistic kinematics. Moreover, it can be also regarded as a well-defined approximation to the Bethe–Salpeter formalism for descriptions of bound states in relativistic quantum field theories. The corr...

Discretized light-cone quantization and the effective interaction in hadrons

Light-cone quantization of gauge theories is discussed from two perspectives: as a calculational tool for representing hadrons as QCD bound-states of relativistic quarks and gluons, and as a novel method for simulating quantum field theory on a computer. A general non-perturbative method for numerically solving quantum field theories, ‘discretized light-cone quantization’, is outlined. Both the...

A New Renormalization Group for Hamiltonian Field Theory

The Schrödinger equation with a two-dimensional δ-function potential is a simple example of an asymptotically free theory that undergoes dimensional transmutation. Renormalization requires the introduction of a mass scale, which can be lowered perturbatively until an infrared cutoff produced by non-perturbative effects such as bound state formation is encountered. We outline the effective field...
